Comfortable vision at all viewing points

Nearsightedness, also known as myopia, is one of the most common vision problems. It is a condition in which a blurred image is formed on the retina when looking into the distance. In children, as the eye grows, it also stretches, and if this happens more than normal, myopia develops and can become more severe.

They find it difficult to see far, which can cause increasing discomfort in their daily lives. They can’t see the board properly at school, or they can’t keep up with ball games, for example. This can make them feel increasingly uncomfortable in everyday activities and can lead to learning difficulties.

For everyone, poor eyesight can affect our quality of life, and for children it can be even more damaging. Their development, their learning and indeed their whole future is at stake.

What can we do?

The prevalence of myopia is unfortunately on the rise globally, and the number of young people affected is increasing. This is linked to the fact that our lifestyles have changed radically over the last decades. The treatment of myopia in children depends on several factors, but in all cases a comprehensive therapy is needed.

This should include a focus on a good lifestyle. Children should spend as much time as possible outdoors and take breaks from activities that require close focus, such as reading or using a smartphone. Most importantly, wear the glasses that are the best fit for him or her as much as possible, all the time if possible.

ZEISS MyoCare lenses are not only the perfect and special solution for correction and treatment, but also because they are comfortable to wear and easy for children to get used to.

ZEISS MyoCare lenses by age

Designed to slow the progression of myopia, the range is specifically designed to help children aged 6 to 12 years. Two different versions are available. The ZEISS MyoCare is designed for children under 10 years of age and the ZEISS MyoCare S for children over 10 years of age. In each of these models, the so-called C.A.R.E.® technology is responsible for slowing down the elongation of the ocular axis, which is achieved by alternating treatment and correction zones on the front surface of the lens.

Also in both cases, the ZEISS ClearFocus design provides the optimum correction for sharp vision, as well as the desired miopic defocus effect. All this regardless of the viewpoint, taking into account that the eyes are in constant motion. Lenses based on different optimisation parameters and a special design thus provide perfect, clear vision both near and far, while slowing down the progression of myopia.
