What can a quick vision check tell you – and how does a professional eye exam compare?
During Vision Month in October, you can find free or quick vision screenings in many places. These can be a useful first step: they can indicate whether you’re having trouble seeing things far away or up close, and whether you might need corrective lenses.
However, a personalized eye exam is about much more than that. At Rapidus Optika, we also strive to assess:
- how you use your eyes in everyday life,
- In what situations do you encounter problems,
- How much time do you spend working in front of a monitor,
- how much you drive,
- At what distances should you focus regularly,
- which type of vision correction and eyeglass lenses are best suited to your lifestyle.
The difference, then, is not simply whether a test is paid or free.
The real difference lies in the amount of data, technology, expertise, and personal attention that goes into it. And this October , we’re offering this comprehensive eye exam free of charge with the purchase of a complete pair of glasses.
No two eyes are alike – just as no two lifestyles are alike.
The vision needs of someone who works eight hours a day in front of a monitor are different from those of someone who drives a lot, someone who reads a lot, or someone who spends the whole day shifting their focus between different distances. That’s why, at Rapidus, during your eye exam, we want to find out not only what prescription you need, but also how you use your vision in your daily life.
ZEISS i.Profiler plus – the “fingerprint” of your eye
The ZEISS i.Profiler plus is a 4-in-1 system: it combines wavefront measurement, autorefraction, corneal topography, and keratometry. These measurements can be used to create a detailed visual profile, which, according to ZEISS, is based on i.Scription technology can be used to determine corrections with a precision of up to one hundredth of a diopter.
In addition to the traditional diopter value, modern instrumental measurements can also identify optical characteristics that may be particularly important in low-light conditions or for night vision.

Glasses aren’t just made based on a prescription – good vision doesn’t end with the right diopter.
The eyeglass lens must be positioned exactly where the optical design specifies it should be in front of your eye. Factors that matter here include, for example:
- pupillary distance,
- the center height,
- the tilt of the frame,
- the distance between the eye and the lens,
- the curvature of the frame,
- as well as how the selected frame sits on your face.
Digital Centering with ZEISS Technology
At Rapidus Optika, digital centering technology also helps ensure the precise fitting of eyeglass lenses. The ZEISS i.Terminal system allows us to measure the position of the frame and the eye with high precision. This is particularly important for state-of-the-art, customized eyeglass lenses, whose optical design is specifically tailored to individual wearing parameters.
Not all eyeglass lenses are the same
There can be a significant difference even between two pairs of glasses with the same diopter.
It does matter:
- What technology is used to manufacture the lens,
- how customizable it is,
- what field of view it provides,
- what types of surface treatments it undergoes,
- what is its manufacturing background,
- what warranty terms apply to it.
That’s why, when choosing glasses, the price alone doesn’t necessarily indicate the quality of the product you’ll receive.
Why is this particularly important for multifocal glasses?
The price of a pair of multifocal glasses alone tells you very little about what you’re getting for your money. There can be a significant difference between two multifocal lenses with the same diopter:
- in the design of the lens,
- in terms of the width of the usable fields of view,
- the FreeForm manufacturing technology,
- in terms of the degree of customization,
- in surface treatments,
- in the context of the manufacturer,
- in the adaptation or other warranties.
That’s why, in addition to the question “How much do multifocal glasses cost?”, it’s just as important to ask: how are they made, what data are used to make them, and how well they’re tailored to you.
Why do the lens manufacturer and the surface treatment matter?
The quality of an eyeglass lens is not determined solely by the material and the diopter. Advanced surface treatments, for example, can play a role:
- in reducing reflections,
- in improving scratch resistance,
- easier cleaning,
- in UV protection,
- in enhancing comfort under certain lighting conditions.
When it comes to a well-known manufacturer, the technological expertise, manufacturing quality, and warranty system can all be important factors in your decision. This is especially true for eyeglasses that you wear for long hours every day.
Ordering and receiving is quick and easy
Once the lenses and frames have been selected, the preparation takes a few working days. Your glasses will be handed over to you ready adjusted, so that they are comfortable and accurate from the first moment.

What can you expect at Rapidus Optics?
1. Let’s talk about your vision
First, we’d like to understand what kind of problem you’re experiencing and in what situations you use your eyes the most.
- Do you work in front of a monitor?
- Do you drive a lot?
- Do you need help with reading?
Or do you simply feel like you can’t see as well as you used to?
2. Instrumental measurements are being taken
Using state-of-the-art equipment, we obtain detailed data on the optical properties of your eye.
3. A personalized eye exam will follow
In addition to the instrument readings, we’ll work with a specialist to determine the right correction for you.
4. Choose the right eyeglass lenses
It’s not just the diopter that matters. We also take into account what you’ll be using the glasses for and under what conditions.
5. We adjust the glasses precisely
Using digital centering, we determine the individual parameters needed to ensure that the selected lens is positioned correctly in front of your eye.
When should you schedule an eye exam?
It’s a good idea to have your eyes checked if, for example:
- you keep holding the phone or the book farther and farther away,
- you often squint,
- whether the image appears blurrier up close or from a distance,
- It’s harder to read the signs while driving,
- Your vision is less clear in low-light conditions,
- After spending a lot of time looking at a monitor, your eyes get tired,
- Do you often have headaches?
- You haven’t had your eyes checked in several years,
- or you simply feel that your current glasses aren’t as comfortable as they used to be.
Find out which vision solution is right for you
A good pair of glasses doesn’t start with choosing a frame. And it doesn’t end with determining the prescription either.
A good pair of glasses is the result of a process that combines a precise eye exam, expertise, the right lens technology, and individual adjustments.
